Birmingham in Real Time (BiRT) is a consortium of universities, industrial partners, small business and other key decision makers, which aims to develop a common platform for collection, pruning, processing, visualisation, mapping and access to open data in any way relevant to Birmingham.

BiRT is supported by the ERDF-funded Innovation Engine II project, as well as Birmingham City Council, AMEY, West Midlands Combined Authority: Transport for West Midlands, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Universities Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, and Birmingham Science Park Aston (Innovation Birmingham).
